Accessibility
The NEQM welcomes wheelchairs, personal walkers, and scooters.
The entrance located on the left side of the Museum is wheelchair-accessible with a drop-off area and push button for staff assistance.
On-street parking is free of charge for vehicles with a valid disability placard clearly displayed.
The second-floor galleries are accessible by elevator and feature benches.
A single-occupancy restroom is fully accessible for visitors who use wheelchairs or require assistance from a caregiver.

By car:
Lowell is located 28 miles north of Boston and 22 miles south of Nashua.
From Interstate Route 495 take Exit 89C onto the Lowell Connector.
From Route 3 take Exit 80A if traveling southbound, Exit 80B if traveling northbound.
Take the Lowell Connector to Exit 5B Thorndike Street.
Continue right onto Thorndike Street, which becomes Dutton Street.
Turn right at the intersection of Dutton Street and Merrimack Street. Then take the first right onto Shattuck Street, which is one-way.
The NEQM is located at the corner of Shattuck Street and Middle Street.
By train:
Commuter rail service is available by MBTA from Boston's North Station to Lowell's Gallagher Terminal.
Lowell Regional Transit Authority shuttles run between Gallagher Terminal and downtown Lowell. There is a shuttle stop at the corner of Market and Shattuck Streets, one block from the museum.
Parking
Municipal Garages
Convenient nearby parking is available at the HCID Garage, Leo A. Roy Garage, Joseph Downes Garage and George Ayotte Parking Facility.
Metered street parking is also available. Vehicles displaying a valid handicap placard may park at meters for no charge.
Other Parking Options
A parking lot behind the museum is available for free parking ON WEEKENDS ONLY. For the lot behind the museum, take the first left off Market St. onto Palmer St., then the first left onto Middle St. You will recognize our building by the quilt mural on the back wall.
If you visit the Lowell National Historical Park before or after the New England Quilt Museum, free parking is available in the HCID Garage.
